Poised on a hillside gazing south over the Seine, this proud red-brick mansion was once home to opera tenor Placide Poultier. Now Patsy will welcome you in; a teacher and guide, she is well versed in local history and happy to share the local secrets over a light breakfast. At the top of the house are two modern, simple twin bedrooms and a sitting room where you can browse a guide book over a cup of tea; bathrooms are separate but private and everything is spotless. Outside, a huge copper beech and blue cedar sprinkle shade into a lush, sloping garden where a barbecue and hammock promise lazy summer afternoons.
